In recognition of Women’s Health Month, the National Alliance for Hispanic Health announced a collaboration with one of the world’s most trusted medical information resources, Merck Manuals, to provide a direct link to health resources, according to an alliance news release.

 

The collaboration is part of the alliance’s educational initiatives, which support individuals, families and health professionals with free and reliable medical information in both English and Spanish.

 

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Merck Manuals in expanding access to vital health information,” said Jane Delgado, PhD, MS, president and CEO of the alliance in the release. “As we mark Women’s Health Month, this collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting women, who are often the lead advocates for health in their homes and communities, with the information they need to make informed decisions.”

 

 

First published in 1899 as a small reference book for physicians and pharmacists, the Merck Manual (now plural) grew to become one of the world’s most widely used comprehensive medical resources for professionals and consumers.

 

The Merck Manuals website offers how-to videos, 3-D models, glossaries of common medical terms and tests, self-assessment tools and more. The site’s consumer page links users to resources for healthy living, including information on diet and nutrition, children’s health and wellness, exercise and sleep, mental health and preventive care.

 

Its sexual and reproductive health section offers information on contraception, menopause, fertility and the various stages of pregnancy.
