I was diagnosed with ILC at University of Chicago Hospitals in July 2025. After biopsy and partial mastectomy -Grade 2, Stage 1A. HER2 negative. After reading this article I'm interested in participating in ILC research projects. I'm 75yo, African American female.

My sister’s invasive lobular carcinoma was discovered at stage 1 when doing an angiogram. She was told it wouldn’t have been found with a mammogram. Perhaps for with people with a family history of invasive lobular carcinoma, something more than a yearly mammogram should be done.
