I'm so sorry you are going through this. Did you go to POSITIVE RESOURCE CENTER for help and information on working while you are disabled? They may be a good place to start with getting information on how best to fight the overpayment. Sending positive healing vibrations and prayers

I’ve been HIV since 1987, AIDS diagnosed since 1992 and have been receiving Social Security (SSA & now SSI). I too was an activist and Positive Speaker until 2005. I am now 69 yrs old and have not been hospitalized due to my status. I’m a Female and my t-cell count dropped below 200 in 1992. I did after retiring from speaking, start my own business for a short time and once again filed taxes. But have never lost my SSI nor do I expect to, nor should anyone else AIDs diagnosed

It happened to me and still is ongoing Social Security said I was not disabled HIV doesn't qualify me for disability and they cut off my payment and medical. Thanks to my family , a diligent case worker, and medical support I was able to get some meds. They still give me samples meds just in case. I didn't mind the check ,and they also say I owe them , but without ins I was lost. I basically stretched 4 months of my meds for over a year but THANKS BE TO GOD and not SSA I'm still undetectable.
